Vijayawada, an important city of Andhra Pradesh, connects the national highways of Chennai-Kolkata and Visakhapatnam- Hyderabad. In fact, Vijayawada is a city where National Highways go through the middle of the city without a single bypass. Recognizing the need for a strategic solution, under the Bharatmala Pariyojana project, the Government of India initiated a transformative bypass road—the six-lane Vijayawada bypass project to alleviate traffic woes and streamline travel.
Bypass for Progress
The 47.88-kilometer six-lane bypass road from Chinnakakani in Guntur district to Chinna Avutapalli in Krishna via Gollapudi in NTR district provides a crucial connection between Hyderabad- Machilipatnam (NH 65) and Chennai- Kolkata (NH-16). MEIL is playing a crucial role in the six-lane Vijayawada bypass, constructing a 30-km stretch from China Avutapalli to Gollapudi on NH-16 (Chennai- Kolkata) corridor.
Our scope of work includes constructing essential facilities such as two rail over bridges, six vehicle under passes, 13 major and minor bridges, 46 box culverts and 50 pipe culverts along with the service roads and highway-side amenities like toilets.
Promises of Progress
Once completed, this project offers a smoother and more efficient travel experience for those navigating the crucial Hyderabad-Visakhapatnam-Chennai corridor. The route spans from China Avutapalli to Gollapudi, passing through Marlapalem, Beebee Gudem, Surampalli, Nunna, and Gollapudi.
Better Connectivity
MEIL's commitment to this bypass road project goes beyond construction; it promises to transform the infrastructure landscape of Vijayawada. As our segment of bypass road work nears completion, the city of Vijayawada can anticipate a new era of efficient and hassle-free travel.
