MEIL Group actively advances Polavaram project construction. Currently, our teams progress on Earth-cum-Rock Fill Dam sections Gap-1 and Gap-2, Buttress Dam, and Diaphragm Wall works to ensure reservoir stability and effective flood management.
On 7th Jan 2026 Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, accompanied by MEIL Group Managing Director PV Krishna Reddy, conducted a detailed field inspection of these ongoing activities at the project site. He reviewed progress across the core structural components under MEIL Group's execution.
The Chief Minister examined Gap-1 and Gap-2 rock-fill embankment construction, featuring layered sand, clay, and heavy rock for robust Godavari flow containment. He also assessed Buttress Dam progress and Bauer company's Diaphragm Wall construction in the challenging sand-reach foundation—supported by MEIL Group—achieving 88% civil works completion.
Chief Minister Naidu appreciated the impressive work progress and commended MEIL Group's engineering teams for rapid execution and adherence to the highest quality standards.
