Work is underway on the underground terminal station at BKC for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train, with excavation reaching 32m deep and covering 18 lakh cubic metres. About 76% of the excavation work — around 14.2 lakh cubic metres — has been completed and casting of the base slab has begun. Fourteen piling rigs are being installed over 3,300 secant piles using the bottom-up construction method, said officials.
