Established in 1989 as Megha Engineering Enterprises (MEE), our journey began with a modest fabrication unit in Hyderabad, India. Through our transformation into Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Limited (MEIL) in 2006, we have remained steadfast in our pursuit of excellence, emphasizing quality, timeliness, and global outreach.
While our international footprint continues to expand across 20 + countries, we remain deeply rooted in our mission to undertake prestigious and challenging projects across India.
We operate in a perpetual state of learning and growth, consistently seeking to bring the latest technological advancements that are both indigenous and people-friendly in every project wherever necessary. MEILians have used innovative methods like marine methodology, float barge technique and jetty pump house in Odisha drinking water projects, NATM and Tunnel Boring Machine techniques in the process of excavating tunnels, SRP method in Sewerage treatment plants and many more.
As of now, MEIL alone is handling over 363 projects in the world. At MEIL, we believe in constant growth, not only in terms of numbers but also across all sectors, without any technical defect being identified in any project, constantly pushing boundaries with the belief that "Sky is the limit."
Notable projects like Zojila Tunnel, Chardham Railway Tunnel, Thane- Borivali twin tunnel, BKC Underground railway station, Sharavathy & Upper Sileru pumped Storage projects, Kaiga Nuclear thermal power station, Polavaram, Machilipatnam Port, Palamuru- Rangareddy LIS, Mongolia Refinery, Uddanam drinking Water Projects and many other projects (some partially and some completely) are being constructed by MEIL.

Over the past 34 years, MEIL has emerged as a beacon of national pride, transcending mere business endeavours to become an integral part of communities nationwide boasting a network of over 25 group companies and a diverse portfolio exceeding $30 billion. Our commitment goes beyond projects; we strive to touch the hearts and minds of people by addressing basic needs such as drinking water, irrigation facilities, power lines and what not, every infrastructure need, even in the remotest areas.
1. Irrigation
MEIL is a key player in implementing all kinds of irrigation projects and has an impressive track record of completing numerous projects within the stipulated time. Be it any kind of irrigation, Lift Scheme or drip or the Micro irrigation, we are revolutionising Indian agriculture by providing reliable irrigation along green energy solutions.
From Polavaram Irrigation project, with world’s biggest spillway, to Sitarama lift irrigation, Sharavathy Pumped Storage, the Upper Bhadra piped irrigation, Sathegala Lift Irrigation, Kalisindh Micro Lift Irrigation.boasting India’s largest and biggest dia pipeline to river inter linking projects like Narmada-kshipra-Simhasta, HNSS Phase 1, where in 10 years, a total of 324 TMC water has been lifted, we are in pursuit of happiness in delivering the extraordinary projects. We are also executing the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project.
2. Drinking Water
MEIL has a significant presence in transforming lives worldwide with its pioneering drinking water projects. Having experience in this sector for over three decades, we have built one of its kind, Public Private Partnership model- Bhubaneswar Drinking Water Scheme, where we have supplied more than 100% of raw water.
Expanding our reach, we implemented extensive infrastructure including dams, reservoirs, canals to meet rural and urban water needs in multiple countries like Tanzania, Rwanda and Zanzibar. The Mission Bhagiratha and Uddanam project, and drinking water projects in Nellore, Nizamabad, Gajwel, Pulivendula, Dhone benefit millions in the Telugu States. Similar success stories echo in Odisha, Maharastra, Bihar, Karnataka and all over India, where sustainable water solutions uplift communities.
3. Highways
MEIL has been actively involved in several significant road projects and built over 700 kms of highways across the country while over 2000 kms of work is ongoing. We are constructing crucial segments of Amas- Darbhanga expressway in Bihar, Vijayawada Bypass in Andhra Pradesh, Chengala to Thaliparamba section in Kerala, Bangalore-Vijayawada expressway and others.
MEIL has executed a lot of crucial segments in Delhi, Punjab, Bihar, Maharashtra, Kerala, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh built under Bharatmala Pariyojana. We actively took part in shaping the Mahasamriddhi Marg and are constructing few notable parts of the Nagpur-Vijayawada highway.
4. Tunnels
MEIL has revolutionized tunnelling in India's infrastructure landscape. Their expertise spans across multiple sectors, including transportation, irrigation, drinking water and power. Notable projects include the Zojila Road Tunnel, Asia's longest bi-directional tunnel at 11,578 feet altitude, and the Chardham Railway Tunnel, India's longest rail tunnel. We are also briskly working on the Thane-Borivali twin tunnel road project in Mumbai.
In irrigation, the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project stands out for its complex tunnelling work. Our innovation in drinking water projects is highlighted by the Sathegala Drinking Water Project, featuring an 11.9-kilometer main tunnel along with Devadula and Veligonda projects. We are also contributing to power with projects like the Polavaram hydropower project and the Ratle Hydroelectric Power Project.
5. Urban Infrastructure
MEIL is significantly enhancing urban infrastructure in India through various projects. In metro cities like Mumbai and Hyderabad, MEIL is involved in road extension works and maintenance. To make Hyderabad a 100% sewage-treated city, MEIL is constructing 25 (17+8) Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) under the HMWSSB mission, ensuring treated sewage is reused for construction and gardening, keeping water bodies pollution-free.
We are also executing India’s first underground bullet railway station beneath Mumbai's Bandra-Kurla complex for The National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited, and twin tube tunnels under the Thane-Borivali twin tunnel project along with the construction of North Bound Road Tunnel and new terminal for Shirdi Airport.
6. Buildings
We are constructing the Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS) high-rise state-of-the-art hospital and NIMS hospital expansion high rise building in Telangana and 12 medical colleges across Andhra Pradesh, enhancing healthcare access and infrastructure.
7. Power
MEIL contributes to the country’s progress addressing the increasing need for a reliable electricity supply. With a commitment to green energy efficiency and innovation, we have achieved excellence in generating power through hydropower, thermal energy and renewable sources.
Remarkable projects across India like Canal-top solar power project, WUPPTCL, Gas Insulated Stations were executed by MEIL. We are moving forward with a lot of substations and lines like Meerut to Shamli transmission lines, and substations in Polavaram, Raidurg, Gudiwada, KPTCL Kushtagi, virudhnagar and many more along with a few pumped storage power projects with which we will illuminate the country.
8. Dams, Hydro Power & Ports
MEIL’s commitment to transport advancements also extends to dams and ports. The Machilipatnam Greenfield port boasts an estimated capacity of 35 million metric tons for exports and imports, signifying a positive development in industry. This is one of the first ports where the ocean is brought to land and then the construction of port is done.
In hydro power sector, we are constructing Ratle Hydropower project in Jammu and Kashmir, Polavaram Hydro-electric project in Andhra Pradesh and SEPC Thermal Plant and KPCL Flue Gas Desulfurization plant.
9. Green Energy
MEIL is at the forefront of advancing green energy in India through pioneering projects in solar power, pumped storage hydro power, and advanced irrigation techniques. MEIL's initiatives, such as the 500MW Kundah project in Tamil Nadu, 1350 MW Upper Sileru, 2000 MW Sharavathy and Saundatti project for GreenCo in Karnataka enhance energy storage capabilities and support renewable energy adoption. These projects provide sustainable and economically viable energy solutions, benefiting farmers and reducing environmental impact.
Additionally, we are also a part of significant drip and micro irrigation projects like the Kalisindh Phase 2 and Ramthal Drip Irrigation project, promoting efficient water use and supporting agricultural sustainability.
10. E-mobility
MEIL's commitment extends to e-vehicles too. We manufacture electric buses through its subsidiary, Olectra Greentech Limited, contributing to a cleaner environment. OGL is India’s biggest bus manufacturer. These buses operate in 27 cities across the country, reducing carbon emissions by 16,000 metric tons annually. EVEY Trans, World’s biggest electric bus operator, being another MEIL subsidiary, operates these electric buses. Impressively, the company has received orders for an additional 9390 buses across 56 cities.
11. Hydrocarbons
MEIL plays a crucial role in strengthening India's oil and gas resources, thereby reducing import dependency. Whether it's onshore or offshore, upstream, midstream or downstream, our company is proud to have its footprint in all sectors of hydrocarbons.
The upstream sector involves designing & manufacturing of state-of-the-art oil rigs. Drillmec, a subsidiary company of MEIL, owns and operates an advanced series of rigs across the world. It has rig manufacturing units in India, Italy, USA, and Belarus and has manufactured and supplied more than 500 drilling rigs across the globe for on-shore and off-shore activities. Petreven SpA, another subsidiary of the MEIL family, looks into the maintenance and servicing of rigs. Utilizing cutting-edge automated technology, we ensure efficient operations with minimal manpower and reduced wastage. Our approach prioritizes simplicity in maintenance and operational convenience, enabling seamless functionality and optimal performance.
In the midstream, laying of oil & gas pipelines, processing facilities, gas-based power plants were executed by MEIL. We are part of constructing one of the India’s first LPG Cavern at Mangalore. Downstream sectors involve distribution and utility of oil & gases, in which comes the City Gas Distribution.
12. City Gas Distribution
Megha City Gas Distribution Private Limited, a subsidiary of MEIL, supplies green fuels such as Piped Natural Gas (PNG) for domestic, commercial, and industrial consumers and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) for vehicles by establishing CNG stations. To date, we have successfully installed over 1.5 lakh PNG Connections and launched 164 CNG Stations across the country.
12. Manufacturing
MEIL holds a special place in manufacturing things, especially for industries. Megha Fiber Glass Industries Limited (MFGIL) makes world-class pipes out of different materials like MS pipes, HDPE pipes, GRE & GRP pipes and even fiber glass. Our Spiral Mill Division received API Monogram in just 6 months of inaugural. This certification shows that they make good stuff that follows certain quality standards.
13. Communication
One of our group companies, iCOMM is one of the India’s largest firms in product designing, engineering development and turnkey solutions for telecom sector. It has State-of-the-art Telecom wireless & wire line equipment manufacturing Unit & Technology Center, Conductors, Transformers, Solar Manufacturing & a world's largest capacity of tower manufacturing facility of 250,000MT per annum to meet the market demands of Power, Telecom, Infrastructure and Solar Sectors.
14. Honors & Recognitions
With the dedication of our teams and our technological expertise, MEIL has set a remarkable benchmark of excellence. Our pioneering projects, such as the 50-MW Concentrated Solar, Thermal Power Plant and the Canal-top Solar Power project, have ranked among the Top 100 Innovative Infrastructure Projects.
Our accomplishments include the longest and highest number pumping scheme for HNSS and constructing Asia's biggest drip irrigation project at Ramthal in Karnataka. Additionally, we are proud to have entered the Limca Book of Records and Asia Book of Records for completing the Nambulapulakunta substation within the stipulated time. From pioneering solar innovations to seamlessly interlinking river flows, MEIL remains committed to driving innovation forward.
15. CSR: Care, Support & Respect
MEIL, on its remarkable 34-year journey of nation-building through infrastructure, has remained unwavering in its commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR). The company's dedication to societal well-being encompasses a diverse range of initiatives. These include promoting education and self-employment by establishing skill development centers for unemployed youth in Bhootpur, Hyderabad and setting up orphanages in Warangal.
In rural development, MEIL has enhanced infrastructure by constructing vital bridges and actively participating in village adoption programs. Furthermore, the company contributes to healthcare by developing an Oncology block at NIMS, Hyderabad, and improving community health through the provision of sanitation facilities and clean drinking water.
Eradicating hunger and poverty are another core focus, with MEIL providing free food for patient attendants at Government Hospitals through programs like Bhojanamrita, Saddimoota, and special diet initiatives. MEIL's holistic approach to CSR underscores its commitment to contribute to the well-being of society and the environment.
