MEIL has achieved a significant milestone in promoting renewable energy in Maharashtra by successfully commissioning 7th and 8th solar power plants under the PM KUSUM scheme.
The 7th solar power plant, located in Warkhedi village, Sambhajinagar district, has a capacity of 6 megawatts. The 8th solar power plant, located in Hisai village of the Washim district, has a capacity of 4 megawatts. These plants are part of the 404 solar plants MEIL will establish across nine districts. They are expected to generate 1880 million units of clean energy, significantly reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 1.8 million tons annually.
These plants incorporate cutting-edge technology, including high-efficiency solar panels, to ensure optimal energy production. By harnessing the sun's power, this project is expected to empower farmers, reduce electricity costs, and contribute to a greener future.
