MEIL Group - one of India’s leading infrastructure pioneers — has achieved another landmark on the world stage.
MEIL Group has secured a USD 225.5 million project from the Kuwait Oil Company for the design, construction, and operation of a new Gas Sweetening and Sulphur Recovery Facility in West Kuwait.
This advanced facility will process 120 million standard cubic feet of gas per day, removing hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide to produce cleaner, safer, and more efficient natural gas for Kuwait’s energy network.
The project includes a Sulphur Recovery Unit with two trains, each capable of handling 100 tons per day, achieving nearly 99.9% Sulphur recovery efficiency. Developed on a Build–Own–Operate model, it will be completed within 790 days, followed by five years of operation and maintenance.
The purified gas will be transported through KOC’s pipeline network to the Mina Ahmadi Refinery, supporting Kuwait’s commitment to sustainable energy and environmental protection.
