MEIL’s group company ICOMM, in strategic collaboration with CARACAL, an entity of the UAE’s leading advanced technology group EDGE, has been awarded a landmark contract to supply 200 CSR 338 sniper rifles to India’s Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
The rifles will be manufactured and delivered from the advanced ICOMM–CARACAL Small Arms Unit in Hyderabad, inaugurated in April 2025. This facility now stands as a key local hub for defence manufacturing—supporting India’s armed forces, central police forces, and meeting global export demands.
This milestone represents a significant transfer of cutting-edge small arms technology and reinforces the spirit of the ‘Make in India’ initiative. The collaboration also creates high-quality local employment opportunities while strengthening India’s defence industrial ecosystem.
Speaking on the occasion, Hamad Alameri, CEO of CARACAL, said:

The first India-manufactured CSR 338 rifles are scheduled for delivery in Q4 2025.
