The construction of the diaphragm wall for the Polavaram project is progressing steadily. On May 14, 2025, a third trench cutter was introduced to accelerate the work. Before commencing operations, officials from the Water Resources Department, MEIL, and Bauer performed a puja to mark the occasion.
Previously, the project was advancing with two trench cutters, but the addition of a third one is expected to significantly boost the pace of construction. The diaphragm wall, or D-Wall, is a crucial component of the project, forming the foundation of the Earth-Cum-Rock-Fill (ECRF) dam.
