MEIL is executing the Raw Water Pipeline Project to meet the raw water requirements of the upcoming Barmer Refinery in Pachpadra, Rajasthan. This project involved laying a 52- inch diameter carbon steel pipeline spanning 210 kilometres from Nachna in Jaisalmer to Bagundi in Barmer.
This first-of-its-kind pipeline in India highlights our engineering expertise and innovative planning, along with a high-capacity water transportation system. Commissioned on January 5, 2024, this pipeline network plays a critical role in ensuring continuous supply of raw water. This raw water serves multiple purposes at the refinery, including cooling systems, chemical reactions, and other operational requirements.
Beyond this water pipeline, MEIL is also working on establishing essential units at the Rajasthan Refinery, such as the Polypropylene and Butane Units, Sulphur Recovery Units, and the LLDPE and HDPE Units. These additions will position the Barmer Refinery as one of India’s most advanced and sustainable refineries, bolstering Rajasthan’s industrial landscape and powering India’s growth.
