A 7.3 MW solar power plant has been developed at Elachahalli village, Hosakote Taluk, Bengaluru Rural District, under the PM KUSUM-C Scheme. This project was inaugurated by honourable minister of energy, government of Karnataka Sri K. J. George. The project supplies reliable daytime electricity to 1,383 agricultural pump sets connected to four feeders — Tavarekere, Mugabala, Elachahalli, and Googuttahalli.
This initiative benefits farmers across 33 villages, providing them with consistent power for irrigation and supporting agricultural productivity.
The project was executed by MEIL Group, a leader in India’s solar and renewable energy infrastructure. MEIL has already completed 17 substations and delivered 104 MW of solar capacity under the KUSUM-C program in Karnataka, with a total target of 88 substations and 688 MW.
Through such solar initiatives, MEIL is helping farmers access clean, affordable, and reliable power while strengthening India’s renewable energy mission.
This achievement also reinforces India’s commitment to sustainable energy and rural empowerment. By promoting clean solar power for agriculture, the project supports the nation’s vision of energy security, environmental responsibility, and inclusive growth for every community.
