Global Expertise in World Class Infrastructure
The International Business Development Unit extends India’s engineering excellence to vital water infrastructure projects across Asia and Africa. Specializing in large-scale drinking water supply schemes, urban & rural distribution grids, and various integrated irrigation practices, we deliver comprehensive solutions from intakes and reservoirs to treatment plants, extensive pipelines and on- farm delivery mechanisms, ensuring seamless water access.
Strategic partnerships with national governments, utilities and multilateral organizations drive this mission. Reliable safe water reaches millions of people through efficient irrigation and sustainable economic growth takes root in emerging economies.

Africa’s Mainland Tanzania hosts two flagship water supply projects, executed under the Extension of Lake Victoria Water Supply Project. In partnership with the Government of Tanzania, we laid an 8,450 kilometre pipeline network, along with elevated and ground- level service reservoirs. In the first segment, we completed water infrastructure for six towns- Kiomboi, Singida, Manyoni, Chamwino, Chemba and Mugumu. We also constructed a 15 MLD intake well near Manchira Dam and a 32 kilometre pipeline through forest terrain. The second segment, from Dar-Es-Salaam to Tabora, benefits Kasulu, Mpanda, Sikonge and Urambo with 12 MLD and 15 MLD water treatment plants and associated pumping and storage infrastructure.
In Rwanda's Mahama sector, we deliver an irrigation and watershed management project to enhance farmland productivity. The project covers 1,752 hectares and focuses on conserving rainwater and improving groundwater recharge. Our scope includes the construction of an intake pump house on the Akagera River equipped with 7 single-stage pumps, a storage reservoir with sedimentation tank, central pivot irrigation systems and other buildings.

In Africa’s Zanzibar, we upgraded the water supply systems across three segments. The project includes 18 borewells- 10 at Mfenesini and 8 at Dole, along with the construction of major storage infrastructure. At Mfenesini, we built a 4 MLD elevated reservoir and a 15 MLS ground reservoir, while Dole will have a 4 MLD elevated reservoir and 14 MLD ground reservoir. Additionally, an ambitious 8,450 kilometer distribution network streamlines supply, reaching every corner of Zanzibar.
These timelines reflect meticulous planning, on- site execution and unwavering commitment to deadlines. In Jordan, MEIL Group successfully executed a 54 MW gas-based power plant, incorporating turbine heat recovery systems and steam generators to maximise efficiency and ensure reliable power supply for industrial operations. In Kuwait, the Al-Zour project for KIPIC involved construction of 66 massive storage tanks, with diameters ranging from 60 to 78 metres utilising nearly 70,000 metric tonnes of structural steel bolstering hydrocarbons infrastructure.

With Rwanda Mahama commissioned in November 2025, and part of Tanzania Water supply project in December, families in Tinde and Shelui thrive without daily struggles, Mahama farms yield abundance and Zanzibar flows with reliable water supply.
