Jammu & Kashmir is making big progress in clean energy with the 850 MW Ratle Hydroelectric Power Project! Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, along with senior officials, visited Kishtwar district to check the project's status, with 20% of construction completed so far.
Built on the Chenab River, Ratle is a run-of-the-river hydroelectric project, designed to generate 3,136 million units of electricity annually. To handle the steep slopes and tough terrain, a 15-tonne cableway has been set up to transport construction materials and heavy machinery efficiently.

As construction speeds up, Ratle will become a major source of clean, reliable energy, reducing dependence on fossil fuels and boosting economic growth in the region. MEIL is committed to high-quality engineering and timely execution, ensuring this project brings lasting benefits to the people of J&K.
