In a significant advancement to provide renewable energy for farmers, MEIL has successfully commissioned a 4-megawatt solar plant in the Washim District of Maharashtra. This achievement was celebrated during a virtual inauguration led by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
The newly established solar plant features a remarkable array of 8,820 solar modules, a powerful 4-megawatt inverter duty transformer, and a 630-ampere breaker HT panel. These components ensure effective energy generation utilising cutting-edge technology.
This solar plant is part of MEIL's initiative to build 404 solar plants across nine districts in Maharashtra as part of PM KUSUM. Once completed, these plants will generate an astounding 1,880 million units of clean energy annually. The impact of this project extends beyond just energy production; it will empower farmers by reducing their dependence on traditional power sources and significantly contribute to minimising the state's carbon footprint. By doing so, these plants will enhance agricultural productivity, ultimately driving economic growth in the region.
MEIL is no stranger to renewable energy, having already commissioned 12 plants with a total capacity of 50 MW. By integrating these innovative solar solutions, we are playing a crucial role in shaping India's renewable energy future and supporting farmers in pursuing sustainable energy sources.
As we continue to expand our solar initiatives, we are happy to pave the way for a greener, more sustainable future for Maharashtra and the country as a whole.
