Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated five state-of-the-art solar power plants in Maharashtra, built under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha Evam Utthaan Mahabhiyaan scheme.
These plants have a combined capacity to produce 19 megawatts of clean energy and are strategically located across Dhondalgaon, Bamni Bk, Haroli, Jalalabad, and Palshi Bk regions.
Establishing these cutting-edge plants is part of a larger initiative to establish 404 solar plants across nine districts in Maharashtra, aiming to generate 1880 megawatts of clean energy annually. By providing farmers with a sustainable alternative to diesel pumps, this project reduces dependence on traditional electricity sources, minimises power costs, and significantly decreases carbon dioxide emissions.
The solar plants utilise advanced technology, including high-efficiency solar panels, advanced inverters, and optimised swing motors, to maximise energy harnessing from the sun. This innovative approach ensures a reliable power supply, especially during the daytime, making irrigation easier for farmers.
The impact of this project extends beyond environmental benefits. With the reduced power costs, farmers can enhance their livelihoods and contribute to the nation's food security.
MEIL is proud to have established these plants and installed a remote monitoring system for efficient oversight and data management. This system integrates with national and state-level energy platforms, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency. With these solar power plants, the state of Maharashtra is taking a significant step towards reducing its carbon footprint and embracing clean energy while safeguarding the livelihoods of farmers.
