Know About Meil

Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Ltd (MEIL) is a $5bn multi-sector infrastructure company from India taking giant strides globally.

The road to national growth

The Transportation Business Unit continues to shape the nation’s journey by developing road networks that connect major production centres, logistics hubs, and population centres through seamless corridors. Its portfolio of over 8,821 lane kilometres spans key states and combines upgraded brownfield stretches with new Greenfield links delivered under Hybrid Annuity, EPC, BOOT, and BOQ models. Several important road segments are under execution across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Bihar, and other states, strengthening inter‑state connectivity for both freight and passengers.

The portfolio covers national highways, expressways, economic corridors, urban bypasses, and major bridges, where advanced construction methods, precast and segmental technologies, and strong traffic‑safety and quality systems help reduce travel time, ease congestion, and support long‑term economic growth along these routes.

MEIL Group is executing projects under national flagship programmes such as Bharatmala and Sagarmala, in addition to state and municipal urban road initiatives, across both access‑controlled economic corridors and city‑level upgrades.

A key achievement in FY 2025- 26 is the construction of a Railway Overbridge (ROB) as part of the NH66 six-laning works in Kerala, featuring seven fully prefabricated 60 m composite girders. Manufactured in-house at our group company, ICOMM, each girder weighs about 141 tonnes and is positioned at a sharp 58° skew, the first of its kind in India.

Completed Projects

Two key segments of Maharashtra Samruddhi Mahamarg were executed, 31 km from Shivmadka to Khadki Amgaon in Nagpur district and 54.4 km from Bendewadi to Fatiwabad in Aurangabad district, delivering a six-lane access-controlled highway with service roads, flyovers, bridges, underpasses and an interchange. Within these stretches, structures such as dedicated animal overpasses were built to enable safe animal movement across the expressway while maintaining uninterrupted high‑speed connectivity.

The Renigunta–Naidupeta road project in Andhra Pradesh has upgraded National Highway 71 into a 57-kilometre six-lane corridor connecting Renigunta, Yerpadu, Srikalahasti and Naidupeta under the Bharatmala Pariyojana. Developed in hybrid annuity mode, the widened highway includes a trumpet interchange at Naidupeta that links NH 71 seamlessly to NH 16. The corridor now supports fast, congestion‑free travel between major temple towns and provides efficient links to Vijayawada–Bengaluru, Tirupati–Chennai and Tirupati–Vijayawada routes, greatly enhancing connectivity, trade and tourism.

In Andhra Pradesh, MEIL Group is executing several key highway and port‑link projects. The six‑lane Vijayawada Western Bypass on NH‑16, a 30 km high‑speed corridor between Chinna Avutapalli and Gollapudi, is nearing completion and is designed to divert through‑traffic away from Vijayawada while linking NH‑16 (Chennai–Kolkata) and NH‑65 (Vijayawada–Hyderabad). The bypass includes major road overbridges, underpasses, bridges, culverts and service roads, and is designed to significantly ease congestion on the existing urban stretch of NH‑16. Once operational, it will decongest city roads while preserving Vijayawada’s role as a key junction on national highway networks.

In partnership with Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, in Telangana, over 170 km of city roads have been upgraded and are being maintained under the Comprehensive Road Maintenance Programme (CRMP), including stretches from Kukatpally to Lakdikapul, with polymer‑modified bitumen and modern pavement design engineered for long‑term performance under heavy traffic.

Ongoing / under construction Projects

Executing seven crucial segments of the Bengaluru–Vijayawada Economic Corridor, which will significantly reduce travel time and improve freight flow between Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. These links are designed as high‑speed, access‑controlled stretches that strengthen a major south Indian economic spine.

Laying critical stretches of the Nagpur–Vijayawada Economic Corridor and the Surat–Chennai Economic Corridor, improving long‑distance east–west and north–south connectivity. These links are being developed as high‑speed, access‑controlled stretches that strengthen one of the most important economic corridors in southern India.

Bengaluru–Vijayawada Economic Corridor

MEIL Group is constructing a 48‑kilometre road under the hybrid annuity model. Segment 1 covers a 24‑kilometre stretch from Chillakuru near Gudur, on the Tamil Nadu side, starting from the Chennai–Kolkata highway and extending up to Thurpu Kanupuru, and is being built as a four‑lane road with two lanes in each direction. A one‑kilometre flyover is also being constructed to tie this segment into the national highway, and works on this section are progressing at a rapid pace. Segment 2 runs from Thurpu Kanupuru to Krishnapatnam Port over 11.4 kilometres and is being developed as a six‑lane facility with three lanes in each direction, creating a direct, high‑capacity freight route between Krishnapatnam Port and the national highway network.

In Telangana, MEIL Group is delivering both economic corridors and urban road infrastructure. Under Bharatmala, we are executing a key segment of the Surat–Chennai Expressway, developing a six‑lane access‑controlled stretch between the Raichur–Gadwal area and Julekal village, and further from Julekal towards Kurnool town. These works will enhance connectivity between Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and neighbouring states, supporting trade.

Around Hyderabad, MEIL is taking up the Appa–Manneguda junction improvement project, where work has recently commenced and is currently in initial stages. This junction upgrade will streamline traffic flow on a critical approach to the Ranga Reddy district and towards Karnataka.

Along Kerala’s coast, MEIL Group is upgrading important sections of NH‑17 through the Chengala–Neeleshwaram–Thaliparamba stretch. This corridor supports movement along the West Coast and Malabar coastline and is being built with resilient pavement structures and slope protection adapted to high‑rainfall conditions, enhancing safety and travel consistency along one of the most weather‑challenging coastal routes. These design measures are intended to maintain road integrity and user safety despite intense monsoon conditions.

In Madhya Pradesh, MEIL Group is executing the 33 km Tejaji Nagar–Balwara road project, which includes three NATM‑based tunnels about 300 m at Simrol, 480 m at Baigram and 550 m at Choral Ghat to safely navigate difficult hill sections and improve overall alignment and travel time.

In Bihar, MEIL Group is contributing to the Greenfield Amas–Darbhanga National Highway project on NH‑2 and NH‑119D, which is set to become the state’s first expressway‑class corridor and a major north–south link. MEIL is also executing the Siwan–Mashrak road project, upgrading a key regional connector that links local towns with the national highway grid. These projects will strengthen Bihar’s integration with national logistics networks and improve access for communities.

In Jammu & Kashmir, MEIL Group is constructing a major segment of the Delhi–Amritsar–Katra Expressway from Balsua to Hiranagar an access‑controlled, six‑lane corridor that will significantly improve road connectivity to Jammu and, in turn, ease travel to the Vaishno Devi pilgrimage town at Katra, while strengthening the link between Delhi, Punjab, and Jammu & Kashmir. This expressway segment will enhance both pilgrimage access and strategic connectivity across northern India. Within this stretch, a bridge over the River Ravi is being constructed as part of one of India’s widest elevated corridors. This includes a balanced cantilever bridge.
